Colorful, intimate summer wedding | Lane + Greg | Hotel St. Cecilia

One of the perks of covering weddings in Austin, Texas is that we get to see a lot of super-hip, unique wedding styles. Here at Bliss we are loving this Hotel St. Cecilia affair from Cory Ryan Photography.

Lane and Greg were wed June 3 of last year. Their intimate gathering of friends and family was accented by lots of pops of yellow among the already funky and picturesque landscape of the hotel.

Lane’s J. Crew gown was the perfect choice for the hot summer day. This bride clearly knows how to pull off “casual chic.”

The couple hired an accordion player as an homage to the bride’s late grandfather, who was an accordion player himself.

All of the floral arrangements were handmade by the groom’s sister and Royal Fig provided a scrumptious feast that guests quickly devoured.

As photographer Cory Ryan recalls, “the couple enjoyed a spontaneous last dance and cheering exit to punctuate the perfect ending to the night!”

Lane and Greg’s nuptials are a perfect representation of Austin’s unique coolness (even on a hot summer day)! From the outdoor elements of the ceremony to the Hotel St. Cecilia’s flashy neon signage, this event and venue bundles the essence of the city into a nice, pretty package.

Vintage Elegance | Mara + Andrew

It’s no secret that the Bliss team absolutely LOVES the style of the 1920s ala The Great Gatsby. Maybe it’s this past weekend’s release of the new film version that has us reminiscing about our Spring launch party or perhaps it’s this bride’s stunning Daisy Buchanan-esque look.

Mara + Andrew were wed on Oct. 5 at Mercury Hall in Austin, Texas. Friends and loved ones surrounded the couple as they celebrated with a vintage-inspired DIY affair. The event exuded elegance with its cream, grey and light pink color palette.

The couple incorporated a lot of vintage items in their decor and clearly paid great attention to detail. Mercury Hall’s stained glass windows provided the perfect backdrop to the neutral color scheme.

These party shots sure make us wish that we had been at this wedding. Everyone seemed to have had a blast dancing the night away with Mara + Andrew!

Mara + Andrew’s wedding is a great example of a vintage wedding that doesn’t go overboard. The sweet simplicity of it all is positively swoon-worthy!

Beautiful Inspiration | Alice in Oh-So-Wonder(ful) Land

Here at Bliss, we just love a little whimsy – especially when it’s done as fabulously as in this Alice in Wonderland inspired styled shoot from Knots and Tots Photography. This set up is a perfect blend of fashion, fantasy and fabulousness. The fairy tale influence is subtle and classy, while Divaz Fabula, Bee Lavish and a few other amazing vedors amp up the glam and pull off a truly beautiful piece of inspiration.
Every Bliss bride dreams of her special day from the time she is a little girl, so it makes sense that some would be inspired by a childhood story. We would just love to see what other fairy tales are inspiring this year’s brides.
